During a tour that WATC gave of the National Center for Aviation Training (NCAT) facility to Hawker Beechcraft, a request was made for composite assemblies to be used for students to practice repairs. WATC was contacted about 2 Hawker 4000 fuselage sections that are not airworthy due to minor damage. The composite sections are valued at several hundred thousand dollars.
On December 8, the front and rear section of the composite aircraft was donated and delivered from Hawker Beechcraft to NCAT. The plane will be used in the composite fabrication and repair class in the Composite Technology – Repair program.
