John Gatson, Medical Assistant Program Student, Receives Make A Difference Student Award
John Gatson was presented the Make A Difference Student Award on October 21 at the WATC board meeting. John is in the Medical Assistant Program. He was nominated by his instructor Beth Buchholz.
John is a very focused student in the Medical Assistant Program, Level II. He has consistently maintains well above average grades and demonstrates superb clinical skills. John exemplifies positive work ethics in his daily interactions with classmates, staff and faculty. John’s educational accomplishments are impressive, but what truly places him above most is he has done this while studying to become an American Citizen.
Being an American Citizen is sadly something most of us take for granted. It’s not something that we work towards and test to become.
John became an American Citizen on Friday September 24, 2010. The Medical Assistant students and faculty celebrated his accomplishment on Monday with patriotic balloons and cookies.
I am so proud of John for his outstanding achievement in the Medical Assistant program. I am also grateful to John for reminding me that I do take what I have as an American for granted. I have something that John worked hard to obtain: American Citizenship. - Beth Buchholz
