National Aviation Consortium
The National Aviation Consortium (NAC) is a $14.9 million project funded by the U.S. Department of Labor to develop industry-standard aviation manufacturing training curricula. Wichita Area Technical College (WATC) was chosen to facilitate and lead the project which includes four other colleges from across the country. Through the partnership of the NAC colleges and the Manufacturing Institute, six aviation-endorsed certifications will be developed. Wichita-area leaders in aviation support this project, including Spirit Aerosystems, Beechcraft, and Cessna. NAC is working with these and other leaders in aviation manufacturing to create the right skills for local workers. Qualified workers are essential to keeping up in the international market.
