Through the JumpStart program, WATC offers college options for high school students to take transferable general education courses and career and technical education classes during high school.

69-credit-hourWATC offers general education college classes for high school students. Transfer them to another Kansas college. WATC’s college-level transfer classes fulfill core requirements for most college degrees. They are taught on site at high schools, at one of three WATC campuses or entirely online.

High school students are eligible to participate the summer following their freshman year through the summer following their senior year. Whether taken directly through WATC or in cooperation with a participating high school, eligible students pay a special tuition rate of just $69 per credit hour. The following is a list of the general education courses offered to high school students for just $69 per credit hour for tuition. Registration, lab and online fees may apply. Textbooks and other materials not included in cost of tuition. Free tuition for current high school students choosing from 300+ career and technical education classes at WATC

Free TuitionWhether at their high school or at one of three WATC campuses, more than 1,000 local high school students are taking college-level technical education classes with WATC. Tuition is paid in full thanks to Governor Sam Brownback’s Career and Technical Education initiative sponsored by the State of Kansas. These classes teach skills that can lead to promising careers in aviation, manufacturing, healthcare, design, business and other qualifying industries.

High school students are eligible to participate the summer following their sophomore year through graduation. Eligible classes including Computer Applications, Intro to CAD, Aviation Maintenance, Accounting and hundreds more.
