Prepare for a career in Nursing & Healthcare Administration with WATC’s Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, IV Therapy, CNA, CMA and HHA programs.
This 3 credit hour course prepares LPNs to perform activities as defined in KAR 60-16-102(b). Presents knowledge, skills and competencies in the administration of intravenous fluid therapy, which will quality LPNs to perform this procedure safely. For more information click here.
Healthcare Administration & Management
This program provides additional skills to enhance the success of the practical nurse certificate. It will include study skills, time management, social awareness skills, an introduction to critical thinking, APA format, review of PN policies and procedures, and learning in a hybrid/online format. The Practical Nurse program provides the common body of knowledge and skills essential for the practical nurse’s entry into practice. The curriculum fulfills the educational requirements for licensure as a licensed practical nurse (LPN). Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN examination. This program does not offer credit for experiential learning. There are pathways for articulation to degree nursing programs. Students continuing their education for an ADN or BSN should consult a counselor regarding transfer of credit for all courses. For more information, click here.
Earning your ADRN is now easier than ever thanks to the South Central Kansas Nursing Partnership between Wichita Area Technical College and Pratt Community College.
Students can earn their ADRN from Pratt Community College at WATC’s main campus, the National Center for Aviation Training.
