How to get started as a student at WATC

Are you ready to start technical courses to land a high wage career or enroll in transferable general education courses to transfer to a university? Starting the educational path to your future can be done in just five easy steps. Follow these simple steps below to get started and download the New Student Checklist!

Submit a free application for admission. Not sure which program you want to study? Check out all of our options here or take a free assessment to see which career path is right for you.

Take the COMPASS placement test to determine which courses you’re prepared to take. Have you attended another college? Send us your transcripts and you may be exempt from taking the placement test and preparatory classes. Did you take the ACT? Send us your test scores. You may be exempt from the placement test.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and explore other options to help make paying for college easier.

Complete the checklist that is specific to the program you wish to study.

Meet with an academic advisor at one of our enrollment centers at 4004 N. Webb Road or 4501 E. 47th St S. to enroll for classes starting soon.
