Program Features

The Kitchen & Bath Design Technical Certificate provides education for entry level and advancement in positions in the kitchen and bath industry. The kitchen and bath design technical certificate includes knowledge and skills needed for working in this specialized field of design. This program emphasis presentation standards, construction and mechanical systems, basic kitchen and bath materials, lighting, universal design applications, software technology, and business practices.

The program combination of kitchen and bath theory and practical application are taught for successful employment. Certified Kitchen Designers [CKD] and Certified Bath Designers [CBD] will qualify to take exam(s) following completion of this program and the required industry experience.

This course applies toward electives in the Associate of Applied Science Degree program in Interior Design.

Admission Requirements

In addition to the college’s admissions policy, students must:
• Submit an application for admission.
• Be 16 years of age or older.
• Show documentation of high school graduation or satisfaction of high school equivalency prior to graduating from the program.
• Meet entrance exam requirements.

The Interior Design program is approved by the Kansas Board of Regents.

The program consists of 41 credit hours and costs approximately *$4,649.88.

*Costs include tuition, student fees and lab fees. Books, tools, uniforms and any other expenses are not included. Additional fees may apply.
