Six Sigma Training

Program Overview

Six Sigma introduces individual process owners and operators to the skills necessary to identify, monitor, and control profit-eating practices in their own processes and for larger system projects. Register for Six Sigma training.

The program also addresses the challenges of change and data management. Students develop an in-depth understanding of how computers and statistical software are essential components in the business world and society in general for:

  • Exploring data in depth
  • Data simulation
  • Screening data for errors
  • Manipulating data
  • Performing transformations
  • Focus on the use of the computer
  • Statistical software as a valuable productivity and data analysis tool

The training instructs the student on how to assist their business in making intelligent decisions about where and how to incorporate improvements.

The courses progress in order of the martial arts – Yellow, then Green, then Black. All courses are taught by what are called Master Black Belts – they are statistical guru’s. The object of the game is to fix processes – find the most efficient manner for those processes and have proof or statistical data to back up your decision.

Course Descriptions

Register Six Sigma Yellow Belt – 1 credit hour

Introduces the fundamentals of Six Sigma to individual process owners and operators who can then act as team members on Six Sigma projects. Not only do these Yellow Belts gain the skills necessary to identify, monitor and control profit-eating practices in their own processes, but they are also prepared to feed that information to Green Belts and Black Belts working on larger system projects.

Register Six Sigma Green Belt Methods – 3 credit hours

Designed to help adult learners understand Six Sigma concepts and be able to apply their knowledge to real problems. It also addresses the challenges of change management and data management.

Register Six Sigma Green Belt Statistics – 3 credit hours

Students develop an in-depth understanding of how computers and statistical software are essential components in the business world and society in general for exploring data in-depth, using data simulation, screening data for errors, manipulating data, performing transformations and focusing on the use of the computer and statistical software as a valuable productivity and data analysis tool.

Register PSS 115 Six Sigma Black Belt Methods 3 Cr Hrs

Incorporates data and statistical analysis into a project-based workflow that allows businesses to make intelligent decisions about where and how to incorporate improvements.

Register PSS 120 Six Sigma Black Belt Experimentation 3 Cr Hrs

Students will learn how to manipulate data with statistical tools to transform it into valuable information (numeric and/ or graphic). This data will be incorporated into a project.
