LeArta Watkins, Director of Distance Learning/General Education and Casey Eubank, LMS Support Specialist recently presented at the 11th annual SIDLIT (Summer Institute on Distance Learning and Instructional Technology) conference on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS. Watkins and Eubank’s presentation was titled “Innovative Technology for Learning: A Virtual World of Hands-On Training!”
The presentation covered how the college is using Innovation Technology for Learning (ITL), flash-based courses currently being used in the face-to-face, hybrid and online classrooms. Several ITL courses being used by the Aviation and Manufacturing departments were demonstrated for the audience. The presentation also explained and highlighted the curriculum development process that included faculty, industry advocate partners and course designers. Approximately 50 attended the presentation which was very well received.
