WICHITA, Kan. — The Wichita Business Journal announced its annual list of Wichita’s Best Places to Work, and WATC is among an elite group to earn special recognition. In the category of companies with 100+ employees, WATC was selected as an honoree along with only six other Wichita organizations. Employees of companies nominated were surveyed by an independent polling group to determine employee satisfaction with work environment and culture. WATC and other honorees will be recognized at a Dec. 12 event and one winner will be selected in each of three subgroups determined by organization size.
Dr. Tony Kinkel, president of WATC, explained why employees are prioritized in WATC’s culture.
“The WATC Way focuses first on our employees,” Dr. Kinkel said. “We hire and promote based on a commitment to our cause — to help students have a chance at a better life and to train the best possible employees for area businesses. Our students are important and the best thing we can do for students is to provide them with faculty and staff who love where they work and know administration always has their back.”
Judy Mount, Executive Director of Human Resources, wasn’t surprised to see WATC named as an honoree.
“Since my arrival at WATC, I’ve bragged to anyone who will listen about what a great workplace this is,” Mount said. “Staff and faculty say they love working here, have great working relationships with co-
workers, good pay, and fantastic benefits. We will continue to ensure this is a great place to work so our faculty and staff can concentrate on helping students succeed. I am honored that we are being recognized for what we do to make this one of the best places to work in Wichita.”
