Two November Job Fair Opportunities at WATC

Are you looking for a career in either Aviation or Manufacturing or in the Health Sciences industry? There are two job fairs coming up this month that will give you a chance to meet and mingle with representatives from the area’s leading businesses.

On Thursday, November 10th, from 3 pm – 5:30 pm, the Aviation and Manufacturing Job Fair will be held at the National Center for Aviation Training facility, located at 4004 N. Webb Road.

Industry representatives will be available for those that are interested or involved in programs such as Aviation Maintenance Technology (Airframe and Powerplant)Advanced AerostructuresApplied Science of Aviation ManufacturingAvionics TechnologyComposite TechnologyNondestructive TestingMachining TechnologyWeldingArchitectural Design Technology, and Mechanical Design Technology.

Some of the Aviation and Manufacturing companies attending the fair include Aviation Business International LLC, Triumph Structures, Nex-Tech Processing, Duncan Aviation, Friends University, Aviation Business International, LLC, GKN Aerospace North America, Maruka USA, Inc., and several others.

On Monday, November 14th, from 1 pm – 3 pm, the Health Sciences Job Fair will be held at the Southside Center, located at 4501 E. 47th St. South.

Industry representatives will be available for those that are interested or involved in programs such as Practical NurseSurgical TechnologyDental AssistantMedical AssistantCertified Nurse AideMedication AideHome Health Aide, and Medical Coding.

Some of the Healthcare companies attending the fair include Newton Medical Center, Home Healthcare Connection, Newman University, Craig Home Care, Right at Home, and Catholic Care Center.

How do you make yourself stand out at the job fair?

  • Bring an up-to-date resume
  • Bring samples of your work if applicable to your field.
  • Have a firm handshake.
  • Dress to impress.
  • Be confident in your abilities and skills.
  • Look the interviewer in the eye when answering questions.
  • Follow-up the interview with a note or e-mail.
