Higher Learning Commission Staff Liaison Visits WATC

by amcfayden on October 14, 2010

Andrew Lootens-White, with the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (HLC-NCA), visited the National Center for Aviation Training (NCAT) on October 14 while on his way to Salina Area Technical College. Salina will be hosting their first site-visit this next year as they too seek Higher Learning Commission accreditation as did WATC in fall 2008. The new NCAT facility will also need to be approved by the Higher Learning Commission and Lootens-White is assisting WATC in that process.

The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) is part of the North Central Association (NCA) of Colleges and Schools. NCA is one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. Through its Commissions, it accredits and thereby grants membership to educational institutions in the North Central region.

Wichita Area Technical College is fully accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association as of October 2008.
