Noel Gary, Director of Aviation Maintenance retires from WATC

Congratulations to Noel Gary, Director of Aviation Maintenance on his retirement from WATC.

As the Director of Aviation Maintenance, Noel was responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and application of Aviation programs for WATC.   Noel has contributed more than 50 years looking out for the safety of the flying public.  He assisted WATC in the training of our students to ensure we have the highest standards of aviation maintenance training.  He has been instrumental in Sedgwick County and WATC achieving success with the National Center for Aviation Training; this current General Aviation Class is the largest in the history of the program with 180 students enrolled this semester.

Noel was awarded the FAA Charles Taylor Award in September 2009 to honor & celebrate his successful career in aviation. This award is given to select mechanics that have worked in aviation for at least 50 years and meet standards of excellence in work and character.
